Another session with halfguard, this time focused on the bottom player. Started chest-to-chest (last weeks subject), goal: get hooks in: either knees or frame with the underarm on the neck. Discussed 2 ways with some variations in possible encounters. The first being (in case the opponent is not focused on pinning one-side of the hip) pushing the knee a bit away to make room to insert ones own knee within the gap, hereafter extend the body to push the opponent away, followed by getting the arms in, possibly an underhook from whereon we can push the opponent forward , get on our knees and bulldozer them over by reaching the far knee and pulling it in. A normal counter would be to wizard the underhook, from where we (bottom) can sweep by falling back on our back and holding the hand from the wizard hook. The second option is bridging and getting the head to the other side, from which we get our arm frame in and push the opponent away.
