The off week

Started off pretty well with leglocks on Monday followed up by fundamentals in the double leg takedown setup. Not focused on the actual take down(just a little at the end). My brother visited and watched training, even helped out with an exercise. Very chill!

Matter on the subject: heel hook with setup, and a switch in case the opponent wants to avoid the submission by pressing the outer leg down. Position of the arm on the ankle, as well as the pinning of the knees are very important to be able to get a good submission. Note from trainer: in competition people really want to get it, so prepare for a tap in case you are stuck. Better safe than sorry, we ain't pro BJJ guys - at least I am not, so I am tapping. Rather walk than talk..

Something happened to my wrist during the classes, I don't know how or what, but it hurts.. Also my hips are stretched, and my neck is half batman. I took the rest of the week off to give my body rest. This although it was fine, is hard for me. Especially since I know that it will interefere with training routine. Next week (or actually Today) is going to be a bridge further away on me getting to training. Excuses are popping up: tomorrow you have a presentation, bla bla bla. Well, watch me go - at least to leglocks! Tuesday class has no-gi, which I like the best (after open mat; whici is just sparring). I am considering not going to fundamentals to prevent any stuff happening and visiting no-gi tomorrow.

Poe, I've seen my fair share of Youtube content on BJJ, MMA, UFC and fighters. Whenever I watch Khabib talk about training I wonder how the hell these guys go every day to BJJ training without hurting themselves. Or if they do, just go even though the fingers or hands are sore, painful and just jacked up. Can someone let me know how people deal with this? Is the body able to recover even after training through injuries? Or are they just dumb for doing so? Well they need to train, it's essentially their work. I sit behind the desk, while they train BJJ. Well, who's calling who dumb, right..
